Position Name: Product Sourcing Specialist
Reporting to: National Operations and Warranty Manager
Purpose of the position
The Product Assessment Engineer identifies and evaluates global suppliers, primarily in China, through market research and exhibitions to source OEM products for the SLA R&D Team. The role ensures products meet efficiency and market standards, supports product development, and collaborates with cross-functional teams. Key tasks include analyzing product performance data, customer feedback, and trends to optimize systems and reduce costs. Additionally, the engineer prepares detailed documentation, manuals, and training materials to ensure effective appliance use, troubleshooting, and maintenance, contributing to quality and functionality in product offerings.
Key responsibilities & duties
- Conduct comprehensive market research to identify and assess potential suppliers for sourcing OEM products.
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers through industry networking and active research.
- Assess product specifications thoroughly to ensure they meet efficiency standards aligned with market demand and the requirements of the SLA R&D Team
- Staying updated on market trends and competitor products to explore effective options.
- Work with management to align sourcing strategies with business needs.
- Participation in global appliance and product exhibitions to explore more options and collect leads.
- Establish and maintain mutually beneficial relationship with overseas manufacturers
- Work with overseas manufacturers to ensure best product, adherence to quality and delivery agreements.
- Providing administrative support to product development projects
- Work in accordance with Smart Lifestyle’s values and demonstrate commitment, active involvement and leadership regarding zero harm, client, people and financial accountabilities.
- Any other task assigned by the managers to meet specific requirements
- Prioritize the data security of SLA’s intellectual property and maintain confidentiality regarding product development activities to safeguard against competitors and industry disclosure.

Academic or trade qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in engineering
- Fluent language proficiency in Mandarin and English is mandatory
- Proficiency in sourcing and procurement
Work experience and skills
- Basic understanding of OEM product sourcing and development principles
- Advance level of Chinese (Mandarin ) speaking, reading and writing ability.
- Proficient in conducting market research, product sourcing, procurement
- Clear and concise communication skills, both verbal and written
- Technical aptitude in engineering concepts or relevant technologies
- Sound in data processing, analysis, and reporting
- Ability to collaborate effectively within team environment
- High attention to detail and time management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Strong work ethic and commitment to professional growth
Salary & other benefits:
- Salary: 40,000 – 50,000 Taka per month
- Yearly 2 festive bonuses
- Annual paid and sick leave
Office schedule: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday – Friday (weekly 5 working days)
